St. Vincent de Paul Society (SVdP)
Though a St. Vincent de Paul Society has been established at each church location within our parish for varying number of years, this group of dedicated people work together to assist those in need. Each of these societies share one phone contact number. For those who need help or are referring others for assistance, call the St. Vincent de Paul Help Line at 724.252.4631. If you are interested in joining the SVdP in their work of mercy, contact 724.252.4631 for imformation.
Holy Name Society (HNS)
- SJB - The Holy Name Society, whose charter at St. John the Baptist, Monaca, began in 1932, promotes reverence for the sacred names of God and Jesus Christ, obedience and loyalty to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church, and the personal sanctification and holiness of its members. It is part of the National Association of the Holy Name Society (NAHNS). United with other members throughout the Beaver County Deanery as well as the Diocese of Pittsburgh, it also focuses on the functions and needs of the parish. Sewing Circle of Prayer
- Prayer Scarf [ST] - Prayer Scarf Project is based out of our St. Titus location. Members make scarves (measuring 12 inches X 40 inches) and attach donated medals and rosary beads to them. The scarves are then blessed. Any member of the parish may request a scarf (free of charge) for someone who has a life-threatening illness or is critically/terminally ill. To request a scarf or for further information, please contact Donna Ogrizovich at 724.378.7967.
- Threads of Love [OLF] - Threads of Love distributes prayer shawls and lap robes (short afghans) to those in our parish who are shut-ins, hospitalized or have a serious illness, those who are in most need of our love, compassion and prayers. These articles are blessed; and as a group, we pray for the recipients in hope they will experience the peace and healing power of God. We also work on projects that support daily needs and comfort such as light quilts, neck scarves, neck pillows, wheelchair pillows and walker caddies. We distribute items to those in our parish who have lost a spouse or a child. Children who are hospitalized or undergoing treatments for various disorders also receive items as well as our love and prayers. If you know of any parishioner who is in need of prayers or support, we can provide a prayer shawl or lap robe for you to give them or we can arrange a delivery. All information is kept confidential. Please call Regina at 724.457.3119 for more information or to volunteer. If you would like to order a prayer shawl for someone in need, click here.
Charismatic Prayer Group
The Charismatic Prayer Group (established November 7, 2004 at St. Titus) has as its primary role and function, prayer growth in the spiritual life and commitment to service in various ministries, apostolates and orgainzations. This prayer group provides an atmosphere in which members can grow in their personal prayer life, enabling them to identify and foster their charisms and use them for service. When growth through charisms occurs, the individual will most likely decide to take a more active part in living out 'commitment through service'. The prayer group fits into the life and mission of the Church, so that it fulfills its role, and thus builds up the body of Christ, the Church. The group seeks to fulfill the Church's mission of evangelization, sanctification. and renewal. Commitment is every Monday from 7:00PM to 8:30PM in one of our four church locations as announced. (Please note that the Monday Night Prayer Group is canceled until further notice due to COVID-19 challenges.)
Bereavement Group
Development of this parish-wide effort is currently in progress. The loss of a loved one is a difficult time for families and we as a parish want to support our brothers and sisters in mourning. It is hoped to have a large enough committee, with adequate representation from all four churches in our parish, so that the work isn’t always falling onto the same shoulders. Once a committee is formed, meetings will begin at which it will be decided the best and most efficient way to structure our work together. Please call the Pastoral Center Office at 724-775-3940 if you are interested in participating.
Respect Life Committee
The focus of this group is on the sanctity of human life and the many threats to human life in the modern world. Participants focus on education concerning the dignity of human life and the responsibility of society to protect all of society. Membership is open to all parishioners. If you wish to join or are seeking more information, contact Mary Volitch at 724.495.7919.
Prison Apostolate
The prison apostolate is under the direction of Deacon Joseph N. Basko. This is a volunteer-based apostolate that responds to the spiritual needs of those who are incarcerated in the Beaver County Jail System. It strives to provide spiritual support on a regular basis. If you wish to volunteer for this special activity, please contact Deacon Joseph N. Basko at 724.775.6363.
Care & Concern
- SFC - Care and Concern is an apostolate that serves those who are struggling with illness, injury, grief or the many difficulties that are part of growing older. All services are free, on an emergency and short-term basis, to our faith community, as defined by the geographic area served by St. Frances Cabrini Church. Available services include: home services, transportation, visitation, prayer network, and bereavement. Rosary Crafters
This is a spiritual devotion group that meets regularly to make rosaries for people in need and to pray for the Blessed Mother’s intercession. Meetings take place each Thursday from 10:00AM until 1:00PM in classroom 107 at our parish's SFC location. Supplies are ordered through
Our Lady’s Rosary Makers in Kentucky. A beginner’s kit comes with instructions, materials for 10 rosaries and a special pair of pliers. After a few lessons, it is possible to make an entire rosary in less than one hour. Each member of the group purchases her/his own materials (about 50¢ per rosary). Each Thursday afternoon concludes with praying the rosary. This group has met every week since 1986 and has made over 40,000 rosaries for missionaries to distribute around the world. Missions that have benefited include those in Ukraine, Sri Lanka, India, Uganda, Tanzania, Brazil, Russia, and Poland as well as those in the U.S. Armed Forces, and U.S. prisons.
