Nuptial Mass Readings & Psalms
Within the Catholic wedding liturgy, the readings from scripture are a proclamation of the Word of God as well as the Catholic faith regarding marriage. The selection are of readings from which to choose are:
- First Reading - nine options from the Old Testament
- Responsorial Psalm - seven options (in consultation with the parish music director)
- Second Reading - thirteen options from the New Testament
- Gospel - ten choices (Please note that the Gospel selection is ultimately the presider’s choice.)
You should choose one from each of the categories. Prayerfully read through the options, reflecting on each. Choose those that speak to you as a couple about to enter into a Christian marriage. To conveniently access the readings, click on the link below.
